Over at Project Rooftop, they're designing alternate outfits for Superman. While I like the character of Superman, I'm not exactly married to his classic longjohn look, so any makeover is interesting to me.
Now this one jumped out at me as being bona-fide badass. If I was a superhero, I'd wear something very much like this:

Its not a bad outfit. Very pulp-hero. I can see Sky Captain wearing something like this. I would lose the yellow S on the jacket.
That is totally mind-fuckingly brilliant. Right out of the pulp-era, but even better than Doc Savage or the Shadow had. It's like a prequel thing; something that Superman should have worn in the pulps before he ever showed up in the comics.
